Dalya's
L had the prix fixe menu-- caesar salad, crab cakes* and Coupe Lydia.
H had the shrimp on toast, which is always excellent.
We also tasted mom's mushroom risotto, which was very nice too.
* Actually the crab cakes were not great, but were good, which is saying a lot, since most other restaurants' crab cakes I find disappointing.
***********
We went again for dinner. Even though the partking lot was jammed they seated us immediately and the service was good. We both had the prix fixe menu with Lobster Pappardelle as the entree, which was very good and came with a LOT of lobster (the whole tail plus extra!). H started with carpaccio and L started with a crab cake. For dessert L had the Moroccan teacake and H had the lemon mousse which she loved. Quite a deal for $35 each!
***********
Took mom and Aunt Nancy. L had the duck salad, which was okay but IMHO shouldn't have been served so cold and wasn't worth the $14. L also had the vegetable focaccia, which was okay, but prolly won't order again.

Emerald Rose in Billerica
Very tasty burgers. $10 for a martini?! Thank god we didn't get that old cranky blonde waitress. (Deborah?)
I also like their Cobb salad. My mom didn't really love the boiled dinner.

Asiana Bistro in Bedford
The salt and pepper calamari is outstanding!
Their moo shi is terrible.
We liked the 'rice stick singapore style' (curryish vermicelli with shrimp, carrots, chinese pork, etc.)
Most veggie dishes seem overpriced or not very good.
Note: on their online menus they do not denote spiciness!
Atlantic Sea Grill in Acton
We mainly go for lunch.
Everything has been good.
The 1st time, L loved the soup & sandwich, which is lobster salad on a croissant with a cup of fish or clam chowder. Now L usually has fried calamari, which is delish and a deal @ $9.
Last time H had fried oysters which also were very good.
Daikanyama in Lexington
Bistro 44 in Bedford
L had clam chowder which was okay and then the Chop house salad, which was very big and also okay.
A nice quiet restaurant on a Thursday night.
Open til 10PM weeknights.
-------
We went again and had a very nice time. Sat outside-- lovely. H had a scallop app and grilled asparagus, and L had the kobe beef tataki with 2 sides: mushroom & leeks and sweet potato fries, all delish! We were treated to two desserts on the house: strawberry shortcake with fresh whipped cream and (nutty) meringues, and chocolate cake with nutty caramel filling-- both delish too!
Yangtze River in Lexington
We had the buffet a few years ago and it was not good.
Recently we ordered some 'old standards' off the menu such as mooshi pork and they were all very good. Nice to be back.
----
Went tonight with an old friend.
Duck with Loquat (and taro?): bad!
Eggplant with Garlic sauce: okay, not great.
Pork lomein: good.
Crispy Jumbo Shrimp: very good, but $18!

Left Bank Restaurant in Tyngsboro
L has been to the Left Bank Restaurant twice for lunch, H once. L loved the food both times.
The service the first time was soso, but we thought it due to being served outside. The service the second time was terrible-- no excuse. Apart from being excruciatingly slow, the waiter didn't even ask me if I wanted more iced tea, which strikes me bad for a $30 meal.
L + H both loved the corn soup as an app. H had the crab cake which was excellent. L had squash tortellini with mushrooms, which was good, but not the best choice.
Naked Fish in Billerica
H liked the seared pepper-crusted tuna with some kind of a creamy sauce, on the rare side with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus.
L thought the crab cake sandwich was a big disappointment, although it was huge for $8.50.
L didn't like the very thick black bean soup, although the waitress was blazingly fast with extra cilantro.
Mojitos for $8.50?!? H's martini was less for some reason.
----------------
We went again and I liked it much better. We started with the seafood sampler, which while not cheap at $15.95 was quite big and very tasty. L had the chicken and mushroom risotto, which wasn't bad, and a Cuban Infusion drink which wasn't bad, but I'd try something else. H had the seared pepper-crusted tuna again but liked it less and thinks she should have it medium rare next time instead of 'very rare.' Tuna needs salt, she says. Her Cabernet Sauvignon was perfectly acceptable. We also had some of a friend's sangria, which we enjoyed. 1/2 a pitcher for $14 is a fairly good deal.
Desserts seemed kind of expensive-- most are $8. The $5 sundae was okay but didn't seem worth it to me.
